About Village Wood Furniture And Their Experience
We at Village wood Furniture Maker, yes I mean we, since there is a few of us who work together to make all this possible. You will get an opportunity to really learn about one person in particular. He is the 'man' making the saw dust or least overseeing the dust creation projects. He is "Papa, Dad" or whatever other kind words you can think of for a male parental figure! Here is his story in his own words. "I was Born and raised in Indiana… the heart of North American Hardwood country. When I was a freshman in high school, the first thing my shop teacher taught me was pine is “sissy wood.” I asked him why he would say that, so he handed me a pine 2” x 6” and a 16d nail. In four hits the nail went right through it. Next, he handed me a 2” piece of oak and another 16d nail. I tried to hit the nail into the oak as hard as I had the pine, but the nail bent twice and the board split. He then instructed me that if I was to ever have a chance to hit that nail through the oak board, I would have to pre-drill it. He later told me that the way to penetrate any kind of North American hardwood is pre-drilling and screws. He then gave me an assignment to make a red-oak framed footstool. I immediately fell in love with the smell of oak as it was being milled. Fifty years later, after being married to the same woman for 42 years and after having made solid wood furniture for myself and my four childrens’ homes, where my 9 grandchildrenare, I retired." None the less he did not care for retirement much since he wanted to be more active. So he decided to go back to what he loved and enjoyed doing. Which is... Making saw dust and building solid wood furniture! He decided to make a few bucks while he was at it. With my help he finally made it on-line! Now he can share his passion with all of you. Thus Village Wood Furniture Maker was born and the rest, they say is...History!! Is this a good intro to Village Wood Furniture Maker, Pops?! Return to the Top
